Silversea Cruises has proudly welcomed the Silver Ray, the latest addition to its Nova Class fleet, setting a new standard in ultra-luxury and expedition cruising. The ceremonial handover took place in Eemshaven on May 14, graced by the presence of Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, and other distinguished guests from Silversea and the Meyer Werft shipyard. The event was marked by traditional maritime festivities, including flag-changing and signing ceremonies, speeches, and a toast to Silver Ray’s future voyages.
The Silver Ray, alongside its sister ship Silver Nova, represents a revolutionary approach to cruise ship design, featuring an asymmetrical structure and over 4,000 square meters of exterior glass, offering guests an immersive experience with the sea. These ships are among the most energy-efficient in the world, highlighting Royal Caribbean Group’s commitment to sustainability and reduced carbon emissions.
Silver Ray is set to embark on her maiden voyage from Lisbon on June 15, cruising the Mediterranean before heading to the Americas in December 2024. The ship’s innovative features include expansive pool decks with ocean views, the Dusk Bar, the Marquee, and a remarkable space-to-guest ratio of 75 GRT per guest, ensuring a luxurious and intimate atmosphere.
The ship’s delivery, achieved two days ahead of schedule, is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Meyer Werft shipyard and its partners. The Nova Class ships boast the largest selection of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the ultra-luxury cruise segment, along with the Otium wellness program and the S.A.L.T. culinary experience.
With the addition of Silver Ray, Silversea continues to redefine the boundaries of luxury cruising, offering guests not just unparalleled service and comfort, but also a unique connection to the world’s most breathtaking destinations.
