Qantas Airways is revolutionising the way passengers experience their pre-flight moments. The airline has introduced a new short-term “subscription” that allows passengers to access the carrier’s 30 branded lounges for 28 days, providing a convenient alternative to a pricier annual membership.
Flexible Membership: A New Way to Lounge
The flexible membership costs $99 for 28 days plus a $129 one-off joining fee, totalling $228 for the first month and just $99 per month thereafter. This new offering provides access to Qantas Club and domestic and international business lounges around the world, ensuring our customers feel valued and appreciated.
Members of the Qantas Club Flexible will enjoy perks like Domestic On Departure Upgrade rewards and a complimentary Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership. The 28-day rolling membership can be cancelled up to three days before renewal, with benefits lasting until the end of that cycle.
In line with Qantas Group’s sustainability goals, members will receive a digital membership card via the carrier’s app. To further enhance the deal, travellers who join and fly before 31 March 2025 will receive an extra baggage allowance for QF domestic, international, and Jetstar flights.
Investing in the Lounge Network
Qantas is not stopping at flexible memberships. The airline is investing heavily in its lounge network. Passengers can expect a new lounge in Hobart by 2027, almost double the current capacity. The Adelaide lounge precinct is also undergoing a makeover, including a refurbished Qantas Club and a new Business lounge. Broome’s Qantas Club is also getting a fresh new look.
A Qantas spokesperson said, “We have been focused on listening and responding to customer feedback over the past 12 months, and we know our customers are looking for flexible options when it comes to lounge access. Qantas Club Flexible allows customers to enjoy the benefits of our Qantas lounges in a timeframe that suits them – the perfect option for travellers who don’t fly every month.”
With these exciting changes, Qantas is redefining the lounge experience, offering more flexibility and convenience to its passengers while continuously improving its facilities. It’s an exciting time to fly with the Flying Kangaroo.
