PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP has just delivered big news for luxury cruisers, unveiling an exclusive Status Match across its full portfolio – PONANT Explorations, Paul Gauguin Cruises, PONANT Yachting and newly acquired Aqua Expeditions. From December 2025, loyal guests can enjoy tier-matched perks and seamless recognition across these ultra-premium brands, opening up a wider world of small-ship exploration without having to start their status journey from scratch.
One loyalty framework, four luxe brands
Following the acquisition of Aqua Expeditions in early 2025, PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP is harmonising its loyalty landscape by linking its long‑running PONANT Yacht Club with Aqua’s newer Circolo Aqua program. The goal is simple: reward repeat travellers consistently, whether they’re sailing a French-flagged expedition yacht in Antarctica, a Paul Gauguin voyage in Tahiti or an Aqua river ship along the Amazon or Mekong. As CEO Asia Pacific Deb Corbett explains, the Status Match initiative is all about elevating and unifying the guest experience across every brand in the group.
How Circolo Aqua members benefit with PONANT
If you’re already a Circolo Aqua member, your existing status now unlocks matched perks with PONANT brands from your very first sailing. Status mapping is simple: Navigator matches to PONANT’s Major tier, Explorer to Admiral, and Legend to Grand Admiral, giving you access to added recognition, priority services and dedicated support from the PONANT reservations team. On top of that, Circolo members can receive up to EUR 50 per person in onboard credit when booking with PONANT, making that next expedition or yacht itinerary even sweeter.
To take advantage, Circolo Aqua members just need to identify their Circolo status when booking with PONANT so the reservations team can apply the correct tier match before finalising the cruise.
Extra perks on Aqua Expeditions for PONANT Yacht Club
The Status Match also works in reverse. PONANT Yacht Club members now enjoy fast‑track access into Circolo Aqua, opening the door to Aqua Expeditions’ intimate river and ocean itineraries in destinations like the Amazon, Galápagos and Raja Ampat. Tier mapping runs as follows: Major becomes Navigator, Admiral and Grand Admiral match to Explorer, and Commodore is elevated to Legend – Circolo’s top level.
Matched guests receive the corresponding Circolo benefits plus a USD 50 onboard credit on their first Aqua sailing, adding tangible value from day one. After that, they’ll begin earning Circolo Miles on eligible bookings, with points based on booking value and tier earn rates, helping them climb to even higher status levels and unlock further privileges over time.
How to activate your status match
To enjoy the PONANT benefits as a Circolo Aqua member, you simply flag your Circolo tier when contacting PONANT to book; the dedicated team will apply your equivalent PONANT Yacht Club status. If you’re a PONANT Yacht Club member looking to sail with Aqua Expeditions, you’ll first request your Circolo status match via Aqua’s online contact form, then use your new Circolo tier when booking future voyages. For frequent luxury cruisers – particularly Australians keen on small ships, soft adventure and destination‑focused itineraries – this Status Match is a smart way to stretch loyalty further across two of the most interesting premium exploration brands on the water right now.
