One day before her maiden commercial cruise from Australia – a three-night Sydney round trip voyage – P&O Cruises Australia gave travel agents and cruise operators in Sydney a sneak glimpse at its new Pacific Adventure.
Carnival Australia President Marguerite Fitzgerald welcomed the ship, saying it completed the local fleet. “Waving off our third ship in the fleet on her first trip will be a very historic occasion for us as we sail into the summer cruise season,” she added.
The ship features 21 different eating options, including a Burger Bar by the pool concept by renowned chef Luke Mangan, and many other activities, such as the Twin Racer Waterslides and the P&O Edge Adventure Park.
The brand-new Byron Beach Club is offered only to passengers staying in one of the ship’s Byron suites or mini suites aboard the Pacific Adventure. Travellers in this category will be treated to a “serene and intimate experience and quiet atmosphere,” as well as a private breakfast each morning, priority tender tickets, an endless supply of fresh fruit, and a pair of branded thongs from the Byron Beach Club to keep.
The ship also features a new “The Lobby” concept on deck five, which has three F&B shops, including the Avalon Cafe, which is said to serve the “greatest barista coffee at sea.”
Pacific Adventure arrived in Sydney a little over a month ago and will run year-round from its new Sydney home base owing to a “marine engineering effort” that allowed the ship to pass under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and dock at the White Bay port.
