Oman Air, the Sultanate of Oman’s national airline, has been rated the best in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) for punctuality. Cirium’s 2022 On-Time Performance Review findings indicate that the airline’s on-time arrivals stood at 91.38%, about 5% higher than the region’s second-highest-ranked carrier.
The annual Cirium On-Time Performance Review is regarded as the global gold standard for airline and airport performance, with results based on data gathered from more than 600 real-time flight information sources. On-time flights arrive within 15 minutes of their scheduled gate arrival time.
“During 2022, the global operating environment has been tough, with numerous airports hit by disruptions and resource issues, as well as the lingering impacts of Covid-19,” stated Captain Nasser bin Ahmed Al Salmi, Chief Operating Officer of Oman Air.
Despite this backdrop, we have maintained an exceptional service record. To have received this award for on-time performance against some of the world’s most reputable airlines is a credit to the commitment and hard work of all Oman Air employees worldwide.
We look forwards to continuing to strive for excellence in all aspects of our guest experience, from timeliness to convenience, our goods and services, and, of course, our characteristic Omani hospitality, as we enter 2023.”
In order to maintain its position as a major international airline, Oman Air has established various quality, comfort, and hospitality milestones in the recent year, obtaining the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) 2023 Five-Star Major Airline designation, among others. To satisfy the demands of a constantly changing market, the airline has increased its investments in its goods and services, providing customers with innovative cabin design, great hospitality, and an expanding selection of routes from its Muscat hub.
