Following a spectacular inaugural journey that began in August with a historic christening event in Reykjavik, Iceland and continued with inaugural sailings from New York and, most recently, Galveston, Texas, Norwegian Prima arrived at NCL’s cruise terminal at Port Miami, the world’s first cruise terminal to achieve LEED Gold New Construction v4.0 certification.
Norwegian Prima features the Prima Speedway, the world’s only and largest three-level racetrack at sea; indulge, the brand’s first upscale Food Hall; and The Metropolitan Bar, the cruise industry’s first sustainable cocktail bar featuring responsibly crafted zero-waste cocktails prepared with surplus ingredients.
On November 13, 2022, visitors will be able to join Norwegian Prima’s inaugural voyage when she calls at Great Stirrup Cay, the Company’s 270-acre private island with gorgeous white-sand beaches, an exhilarating zipline running across the island, and NCL’s exclusive hideaway, Silver Cove.
“There’s nothing like welcoming Norwegian Prima to Miami,” said Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “I had the honour of witnessing her birth at the Fincantieri shipyard in Venice, Italy, and grandly launching her in Iceland. We are now introducing her to our Miami community. It’s a dream come true! ”
Norwegian Prima is the brand’s first of six ships in the ground-breaking Prima Class. Norwegian Prima, at 965 feet (294 metres long) and more than 143,535 tonnes, with a capacity of 3,100 people at double occupancy and the highest staffing levels and space ratio of any contemporary or premium cruise ship.
