Norwegian Cruise Line has celebrated the christening of Norwegian Luna in Miami, introducing the line’s newest ship to the Caribbean and reinforcing PortMiami’s role as one of NCL’s key homeports. The ceremony also highlighted the brand’s focus on multi-generational travel, family-friendly attractions and resort-style destinations that make the itinerary as compelling as the ship itself.
At 1,056 feet long and with a guest capacity of 3,565, Norwegian Luna brings the Prima Class design language to a ship built for space, flexibility and a wide mix of holiday styles. On board, guests can expect the Aqua Slidecoaster, described by NCL as the longest and fastest slide at sea, along with the Moon Climber, Luna Midway, Glow Court and Luna Game Zone.
Entertainment is another headline feature. Norwegian Luna will offer big-production shows such as Elton: A Celebration of Elton John, HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder, a new Tribute to Eagles show at Syd Norman’s Pour House, and LunaTique, a late-night adults-only experience. For families, the ship also adds Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival, an original children’s experience designed around playful, immersive activities.
Dining and beverage choices are equally broad, with 17 dining options and 18 bars and lounges across the ship. That includes specialty venues such as Onda by Scarpetta, Sukhothai, Le Bistro and the Sail and Sustain cocktail bar, giving guests a strong mix of casual and premium choices during the voyage.
From April 2026 through April 2027, Norwegian Luna will sail sun-soaked Caribbean itineraries from Miami, with routes that include Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye. Great Stirrup Cay is also set to expand its appeal with upgrades such as the Great Life Lagoon, Vibe Shore Club and the upcoming Great Tides Waterpark, which will add 19 waterslides and several family-focused features.
