Sheila, Bonza’s third plane, touched down at Sunshine Coast Airport on Tuesday, bringing with her the full complement of the budget airline’s inaugural fleet based at the low-cost carrier’s hub of the Sunshine Coast.
Once regulatory approval is obtained, Bonza will gradually begin flying with the addition of Sheila to the initial fleet.
Bonza’s chief commercial officer, Carly Povey, said that with the addition of Sheila to the fleet at Sunshine Coast Airport, the company “wheels up” from its home base on the Sunny Coast.
We’ll be basing our next two planes out of Melbourne Airport, our second home, and will announce the details in the New Year.
Like those of her friends Shazza and Bazza, Sheila’s name came from “our purple army of followers on social media,” as Povey put it.
The airline is continuing its preparedness operations in preparation for linking communities via low-cost flights while remaining compliant with applicable regulations.
If you’re an Australian and want to know the second cheap flights become available, download the Fly Bonza app and sign up.
Shazza, Bonza’s first jet, landed at Sunshine Coast Airport in early August, and Bazza, the company’s second plane, arrived in late October.
Before the airline ever began selling tickets, Bonza had its travel agency site up and running, allowing consultants and trade partners to sign up online.
