Carnival Newest Ship Luminosa Open For Bookings

Reservations for the maiden season of Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, Carnival Luminosa, which will launch on 6 November from Brisbane before repositioning for seasonal service from Seattle to Alaska in May, are now being taken.

When Carnival’s newest “fun ship,” formerly operated by Costa Cruise Line, finally makes its way to Australia, it will become the latest ship in the Carnival fleet to sport the new livery, which was first unveiled on Mardi Gras in 2021 and has since been applied to half of the Carnival fleet, featuring the signature red, white, and blue colours.

The ship’s funnel will have a retro style similar to the ones on the original Mardi Gras, Carnivale, and Festivale ships.

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said, “To truly make Luminosa feel like she belongs in the Carnival Cruise Line family, we are adding our beautiful new livery to her hull, of course, and we are keeping her throwback funnel design that once adorned some of our most iconic earlier vessels.” In the approaching dry dock, we will install new Carnival amenities and modify others to fit Carnival’s laid-back vibe but rest assured, our staff will make you feel at home from the moment you step onboard.

The Carnival Luminosa will have several novel venues in addition to the tried-and-true favourites that passengers have come to expect from a Carnival cruise.

Playlist Productions, The Punchliner Comedy Club, Limelight Lounge, Piano Bar 88, Alchemy Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Chef’s Table, Bonsai Sushi Express, Seaday Brunch, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and Cloud 9 Spa are just a few of the guest-favourite venues that will be available on the ship.

From the time she is available for booking on 6 November 2022 through 13 April 2023, the Carnival Luminosa will set sail from Brisbane on a wide range of seasonal itineraries, including short three- and four-day cruises to popular Australian ports, longer eight- to eleven-day cruises to places like Noumea and Lifou Islands in New Caledonia, Port Vila and Mystery Island in Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and New Zealand.

Carnival Luminosa will sail a four-month Alaska itinerary from Seattle, including 17 seven-day sailings and six- and eight-day sailings to port favourites, including Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, and Tracy Arm Fjord spectacular cruise.

After wrapping up its season in Alaska, Carnival Luminosa will sail back to Brisbane, stopping at exotic, first-for-Carnival locales such as Kushiro, Aomori, Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki in Japan, as well as Puerto Princesa, Philippines, and Bitung, Indonesia.

Carnival Luminosa is a sister ship to the Carnival fleet’s four other Spirit-class ships.
