Big news for river cruise lovers—AmaWaterways‘ celebrated fleet is about to get even bigger! The award-winning company has announced an incredible expansion, ordering eight new river ships scheduled for delivery by 2030. This ambitious move will see AmaWaterways’ fleet swell to over 40 vessels, effectively doubling the fleet since 2020 and cementing the line’s place at the heart of the river cruising world.
According to AmaWaterways CEO Catherine Powell, the expansion is a direct response to the surging demand from travellers keen to discover the magic of Europe’s rivers and beyond. “Our expanding fleet is a direct response to the strong demand from guests eager to discover river cruising and Europe’s beautiful rivers,” said Catherine Powell. “These new ships represent exciting opportunities for our valued travel advisor partners and us to grow together. With each new ship, we will continue to sail our guests to the heart of every destination while delivering the high-touch service, elegant design and immersive experiences that define AmaWaterways.”
Founded with a pioneering spirit and a passion for outstanding hospitality, AmaWaterways has cemented its reputation for excellence in the world of river cruising. With 25 ships already sailing such iconic rivers as the Rhine, Danube, Seine, Mekong, Nile, Chobe and more, the company is well-regarded for pushing boundaries. Standout features like twin balconies, staterooms specially designed for families, and an array of luxury touches—from gourmet dining at The Chef’s Table to innovative wellness programs—have made AmaWaterways a traveller favourite.
Not to mention, AmaWaterways’ commitment to the environment shines through, with 20 ships in the European fleet boasting the prestigious Green Award for safety, quality, and eco-performance.
